About SEP's organizers: part 2

In our last post we talked about one of SEP's organizers, AIESEC. Now we're gonna tell a bit about SEP's other national organizer, which is The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).












Royal Bank of Scotland PLC was founded in Edinburgh in the year 1727 and ever since it has grown significantly. Together with other well known names of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC, such as NatWest, Ulster Bank, Coutts or Citizens, provides financial services. At the end of the year 2007, RBS successfully lead the bid to acquire ABN AMRO, and in Romania the bank became RBS in October 2008.

The partnership with AIESEC Romania resulted in the foundation of the Sustainability Education Program, a cooperation based on the many years experience of working together with positive results for both organizations and the specific needs of the local environment.

The Sustainability Education Program was launched in March 2007 and contributed to the education on sustainable development of young people in Romania, through theoretical dimensions and also through implementation of practical activities. The pilot program was implemented in eight Romanian cities: Bucharest, Braşov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanţa, Galaţi, Iaşi, Oradea and Sibiu. You can find the results of the 2007-2008 edition here.

About SEP's organizers: part 1

After we've explained what our project is all about, now we would like to tell you a bit more about the organizers of SEP. As you already may have noticed in an earlier post or in our description, SEP is developed by AIESEC Romania and RBS.

So, in this post we will provide you with more info about AIESEC:









AIESEC Romania is one of the network’s 107 countries that are part of the largest youth-run organization in the world. With a history of over 60 years of activating youth leadership at global level, AIESEC offers students and recent graduates international experiences and leadership opportunities that contribute to their development.

In Romania, AIESEC has been actively involved in the education and career orientation of young people for almost 20 years. AIESEC is now present in 13 cities around the country: Bucuresti, Brasov, Cluj, Constanta, Craiova, Galati, Iasi, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Oradea, Sibiu, Timisoara, Targu Mures. The local chapters count together 1270 members and run annually over 100 projects with an impact of over 50.000 students, 267 companies and countless other stakeholders.

AIESEC Iasi was founded in 1993 and it currently has 193 members, organizing approximately 15 projects every year, like IASHINGTON - the biggest international conference in Iasi, StartMe - the biggest non-formal education program in Iasi developed for high-school students, BRIO - a leadership conference that provides communication and entrepreneurship sessions.
